The Carolina Angler Captain Chris Nichols (704-860-7951) has had a lot of outstanding days with the crappie on Lake Wylie this winter, like every year, but he’s not a one-trick pony. Fishing with his good friend Steve Laws they drift-fished around schools of shad in the lower third of the lake and caught around a dozen fish with most between 18 and 25 pounds! Here’s Steve with one of the biggest.

People may think of Santee or maybe Wateree or Monticello when they think of South Carolina blue cats, and those are good lakes for blues - but Lake Wylie deserves recognition for its fishery, too. And Chris Nichols and Rodger Taylor, two of our most experienced guides, can put you on them! Thank you for sharing, Captain.
