Unfortunately it's that time of year when fishing has slowed down on most of South Carolina's lakes, but Captain Stevie English (843-709-8138) has figured out how to beat the heat and catch some giants on Santee. This 50-pound blue cat was caught in 30 feet of water drifting after dark in the lower lake. While plenty of fish do move shallow to feed at night, this shows there are still others that stay deep. Captain Stevie also notes that it was caught on white perch, like a lot of the better fish they catch this time of year.
