Ordinarily a nice mess of crappie might not qualify for "catch of the day", but today they do. The reason being the author spent several hours after work this afternoon fishing his favorite Lake Murray brush and marinas - without a bite. That water temperatures in Beard's Creek have rebounded to 90 by this afternoon probably didn't help. Meanwhile, on Lake Wylie The Carolina Angler Captain Chris Nichols (704-860-7951) fished for crappie for two hours by himself before taking out a party and caught 50, keeping his limit. He found that on Wylie they had started to move into major creeks and caught them on minnows and crankbaits. Good work Chris!
