After a really cold winter (and over 6 inches of snow in Hilton Head, for example) there were concerns about the South Carolina trout population. While catches have been down this year, the fishery was seemingly damaged less than feared and there have been some good numbers and big fish caught this summer. But this beautiful trout caught with Captain Trent Malphrus with Palmetto Lagoon Charters (843-301-4634) is one of the finer specimens we have seen! It weighed over 4 pounds and was caught on live finger mullet fished in clean water at high tide on a main river point. Thanks for sharing, Captain Trent!
