Gigging often seems to be a good way to find the biggest flounder, but with so many reports this week emphasizing the importance of fishing in the coolest periods during this intense heat it's absolutely no surprise the best flounder we saw this week was "caught" at night. Captain Buddy Love of Captain Smiley Fishing Charters (843-361-7445) is pictured below with two nice flounder they managed at night recently, with the fish in his left hand nearing if not reaching doormat proportions at nearly 26-inches. Whether you see flatfish or not, being in the creeks at night during the summer is almost always a treat - and it's certainly a great way to beat the heat.
Thanks for sharing, Buddy!
