Thirty years ago veteran tournament angler Will Hinson of Cassatt says that he could go down to Santee and catch all the crappie he wanted, but anyone who has been following the reports knows it's not that easy today. The lakes just aren't full of them the way some of our South Carolina lakes, like Wateree, are. But there are some giants swimming around in Santee, and Will managed to pull out these two 2.60 pound fish from the upper lake. You can read more about how he caught them in this week's Santee report, but they came on Fish Stalker jigs along the old river channel. Interestingly, Will said it seemed that all the fish he caught were either approaching at least two pounds or 8-9 inches. Thanks for sharing, Will!
