It was a banner weekend for The Carolina Angler Captain Chris Nichols (704-860-7951), fishing Saturday and Sunday on Clarks Hill with Captain Do Beatty. Each morning they caught 30 plus hybrids before daylight fishing herring 15-25 feet deep, and then once the sun came up they moved to 20-40 feet, staying above the thermocline, and continued catching them. The second day they managed several hybrids over 5 pounds. The bite definitely slowed after the sun came up, but they also caught bigger fish - including some off the oxygen lines.
We didn’t manage a catch of the day on Friday, but thanks to Captain Chris for sharing the "catch of the weekend"!
