Inshore: Perry’s Bait and Tackle (843-651-2895) reports that catches of red and black drum have both been pretty good in the Murrells Inlet area, but although the flounder bite has improved a bit keepers are still somewhat rare. In the surf anglers are catching a lot of croaker, whiting, spots and a few spottails, and Spanish mackerel are also starting to move back down from the North.
Offshore: Georgetown Landing Marina (843-546-1776) reports that the First Annual Georgetown Wahoo Challenge held last weekend was a huge success, with 42 boats participating and bringing 112 fish to the scales. Wahoo up to 47.2 pounds, tuna up to 15 pounds and dolphin up to 19.8 pounds were all weighed in.
