While you won't be able to find The Carolina Angler Captain Chris Nichols (704-860-7951) on Lake Wylie over a holiday weekend, it's been a pretty fantastic bite when you can avoid the boat traffic. It's a double-bonanza drifting the creeks, and right now the catfish and crappie (or "snacks", as the big blues refer to them) are both stacked up in as much as about 25 feet of water. Just use your electronics until you find a big concentration of fish, and then you can catch crappie spider rigging minnows in 20-25 feet and catfish drifting cut bait in 15-25 feet.
This young lady a great day catching both species with Captain Chris!
