Cherry Grove Pier (843-249-1625) reports that water temperatures are 74 degrees on the surface and 72 degrees on the bottom. Whiting, croaker, perch and bluefish (including some big blues up to 2 feet long) have been caught, as well as pretty good numbers of Spanish mackerel. The Spanish mackerel have been about 50% keepers and 50% under-sized. When the water has been very clear pink Gotcha plugs have been working for the Spanish, and when the water is murkier white Gotcha plugs with a red or yellow head have been working. No king mackerel have been landed yet but a few undersized flounder and a handful of black drum have been caught.
