High temperatures have gone from the 50s to the 80s and back to the 50s again in a matter of days, and another large rain event appears to be on the horizon, but no weather has stopped the big bass from biting so far this spring.  Last Saturday's Fishers of Men tournament on Santee was won by Marshall French and Tripp Poplin with a monster 31.5 pound bag including an 8.73 big fish (credit to reader Jim Anderson with the closest guess of 32 pounds worth $30.)  

Hopefully this weekend will be no exception, as there are several CATTs, a couple of ABA events, a Skeeter Challenge, a benefit tournament and of course a Sunday Showdown Series event up this weekend.  However, we are focusing on Saturday's Palmetto Boat Center tournament on Lake Murray.  Closest guess to the winning weight in the comments here wins a $40.00 gift certificate to Angler's Headquarters (tie breaker, tournament big fish).  Bonus: guess the winning bag and big fish weight and win a $500.00 gift certificate to the store.  Deadline is 7:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6.
