Morning surface water temperatures are around 82 degrees inshore around Little River, and with less wind the last few days water clarity is picking up.

Morning surface water temperatures around Edisto Island are about 83-84 degrees inshore and the North Edisto is clear while the South Edisto is cloudy. There is plenty of bait in the creeks. 

With some better weather they have been able to spend a lot of time nearshore recently, and Captain Ron Davis, Jr. (843-513-0143) reports

Morning surface water temperatures are about 83 inshore around Beaufort.  As will be the case for some time, there is a ton of bait around. 

Everybody expected the full moon tailing tides to be really good last week, and they were, but Captain Tuck Scott with Bay Street Outfitters (843-524-5250) reports

Lake Greenwood water levels are at 439.12 (full pool is 440.0) and water clarity is pretty normal. Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid-80s. 

Last weekend’s crappie tournament on Lake Greenwood was as tough as expected, but veteran tournament angler Will Hinson of Cassatt reports

Morning surface water temperatures are around 86 degrees inshore around Hilton Head and with some calmer weather the water has cleared up a bit. Shrimp, small finger mullet and menhaden are all very abundant.

Lake Keowee is at 97.9% of full pool and water clarity is high. Morning surface water temperatures remains at their summer peak in the upper 80s over most of the lake.

Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid-80s inshore around Charleston and the creeks are full of bait.  

Inshore fishing continues to heat up around Charleston, and Captain Rob Bennett (843-367-3777) reports

Lake Jocassee is at 98.8% of full pool and the lake is clear everywhere except way up the rivers. Morning surface water temperatures are still around 80 degrees on the big water. 

Even with some cooler weather change comes slowly on deep, clear Lake Jocassee, and Jocassee Charters (864-280-9056) reports

Lake Russell water levels are around 473.96 (full pool is 475.00) and the lake is fairly clear. Morning surface water temperatures are about 84 degrees over most of the lake.

While the water temperatures are in the 80s over most of the lake, Guide Wendell Wilson (706-283-3336) reports

Lake Wylie is at 96.8% of full pool and morning surface water temperatures are about 84 degrees, down several degrees in the past couple of weeks. 

The catfish bite is very good on Lake Wylie, and Captain Rodger Taylor (803-517-7828) reports

Lake Wateree is at 97.3% of full pool and morning surface water temperatures are around 83 degrees. 

The crappie have again moved a bit deeper on Lake Wateree, and veteran tournament angler Will Hinson of Cassatt reports

Lake Hartwell water levels are down to 656.57 (full pool is 660.00) and clarity is very high. Morning surface water temperatures are around 83-85 degrees.   

Every few years the August hybrid and striped bass fishing on Lake Hartwell gets tough, and Guide Chip Hamilton (864-304-9011) reports

Clarks Hill water levels are down to 327.02 (full pool is 330.00) and the water clarity is normal. Morning surface water temperatures on the lower end are down to about 82 degrees.  

The hybrid and striped bass fishing has changed dramatically since the last full moon, and Little River Guide Service (706-210-3474) reports

Santee Cooper water levels are at 74.81 in Lake Marion (full pool is 76.8) and 74.69 in Lake Moultrie (full pool is 75.5) and morning surface water temperatures are in the mid-80s. 

There are certainly still anglers catching catfish shallower on Santee, but for big bites Captain Stevie English (843-709-8138)

Lake Murray water levels are at 356.80 (full pool is 360.00) and water clarity is a bit stained after recent rains. Morning surface water temperatures are in the low 80s.

The summer pattern striped bass fishing has started to slow down on Lake Murray, and Captain Brad Taylor (803-331-1354) reports

Morning surface water temperatures around Edisto Island are about 85 degrees inshore and both rivers have cleared up again. 

It’s not clear why but the trout bite continues to drop off, and Captain Ron Davis, Jr. (843-513-0143) reports

It’s too early to call it a fall bite, but in the last week Captain Rob Bennett (843-367-3777) reports

Lake Jocassee is at 98.3% of full pool and the lake is clear. Morning surface water temperatures are around 80-83 degrees. 

After an outstanding July the trout fishing is off to a great start again in August on Lake Jocassee, and Jocassee Charters (864-280-9056) reports

Lake Russell water levels are around 474.5 (full pool is 475.00) and the lake is still clear on the main channel. Morning surface water temperatures are about 85 or 86 degrees.

The bite is fairly stable on Lake Russell, and Guide Jerry Kotal (706-988-0860) reports

Lake Wylie is at 97.2% of full pool and with recent rains in the mountains up the lake is muddy. Morning surface water temperatures are about 86 and temperatures are hitting 90 plus in the afternoon. 

There continue to be some big bags caught bass fishing on Lake Wylie, and tournament angler Reid McGinn of Fort Mill reports

Lake Wateree is at 96.9% of full pool and the lake has a normal stain.  Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid-80s.  

While tournament angler Dearal Rodgers of Camden isn’t saying that there are no shallow bass to be caught on Lake Wateree
