Morning surface water temperatures are around 82 degrees inshore around Charleston. 

Even though mullet are starting to flood into the creeks inshore fishing has been a little slow, and Redfin Charters (843-277-5255) reports

Santee Cooper water levels are at 74.33 in Lake Marion (full pool is 76.8) and around 75.29 in Lake Moultrie (full pool is 75.5). Morning surface water temperatures are in the lower 80s. 

The crappie fishing has improved marginally, but Captain Steve English (843-729-4044) reports

June 9

Lake Russell water levels are at 474.90 (full pool is 475.00) and the lake is very clear. Morning surface water temperatures are about 80 degrees. 

The bass on Lake Russell have now transitioned into early summer patterns, and Guide Jerry Kotal (706-988-0860) reports

Lake Hartwell water levels are well above full at 661.32 (full pool is 660.00) and clarity is very high.  Morning surface water temperatures are 80-81 degrees over most of the lake. 

The hybrid and striped bass are in some pretty reliable patterns right now on Lake Hartwell, and Guide Chip Hamilton (864-304-9011) reports

Clarks Hill water levels are above full at 330.69 (full pool is 330.00). Morning surface water temperatures are about 83 degrees. 

We all appreciate honesty from fishing guides, even when things aren’t great, and Little River Guide Service (706-210-3474) reports

Lake Jocassee is at 95.6% of full pool and the lake is extremely clear. Morning surface water temperatures have dropped back slightly to 76-77 degrees on the main lake, while up the rivers they are warmer. 

The trout fishing has been pretty good this week on Lake Jocassee, but Guides Sam and Casey Jones with Jocassee Charters (864-280-9056) report

Lake Keowee is at 98.1% of full pool and water clarity is high on the main lake, as is typical at this time of year, with some stain in the back of major creeks.  Morning surface water temperatures are now in the low 80s throughout the lake and continue to progress towards their summertime highs.

Lake Greenwood water levels are at 439.21 (full pool is 440.0) and water clarity is normal.  Morning surface water temperatures are in the low 80s. 

It’s an excellent time for striped bass fishing on Lake Greenwood, and Guide Daniel Skipper (864-430-0488) reports

Lake Murray water levels are at 357.59 (full pool is 360.00) and water clarity is normal for summer. Morning surface water temperatures are in the high 70s to low 80s. 

The striped bass are getting into fairly predictable summer patterns, and Captain Brad Taylor (803-331-1354) reports

Lake Keowee is at 98.1% of full pool and visibility is mostly back to normal. Morning surface water temperatures are now in the high 70s to low 80s across the lake. 

Very warm temperatures continue to advance the seasonal progression of bass fishing on Lake Keowee, and N&C Marine/ Falcon team member Guide Charles Townson (864-324-2065) reports

Lake Keowee is at 98.7% of full pool and heavy rains have made the backs of major creeks muddy to stained, while the main lake remains average clarity. Morning surface water temperatures are now in the high 70s across the lake.

Morning surface water temperatures around Edisto Island are up to about 79 degrees inshore. Both rivers are clear.   

It’s been a good week of fishing around Edisto, and Captain Ron Davis, Jr. (843-513-0143) reports

Morning surface water temperatures are around 74 or 75 degrees inshore around Little River. Shrimp have flooded inshore and they are now easy to catch in a cast net.  

Fishing conditions have been good again this week, but Captain Patrick “Smiley” Kelly (843-361-7445) reports

Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid to upper 70s inshore around Charleston. 

Without strong tailing tides they have had to target redfish other ways this week, and  Redfin Charters (843-277-5255) reports

Morning surface water temperatures are around 78 degrees inshore around Hilton Head. There is finally some cleaner water in the Port Royal Sound. 

With better conditions as we get further away from extreme wind and the full moon, Captain Kai Williams (843-816-7475) reports

Morning surface water temperatures are about 78 inshore around Beaufort.  Between wind and a significant amount of rain a couple of days ago the water is muddier than normal, even though tides have normalized. Very few shrimp are around so far. 

It’s been a decent bite for redfish this week, and Captain Tuck Scott with Bay Street Outfitters (843-524-5250) reports

Lake Russell water levels are at 474.93 (full pool is 475.00) and even after a bunch of rain this week the main lake and fronts of creeks are still clear. Morning surface water temperatures range from about 75-78 degrees. 

The bass fishing on Lake Russell is getting a little tougher, and Guide Jerry Kotal (706-988-0860) reports

Lake Wylie is at 97.1% of full pool and clarity is good. Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid-70s. 

The shad spawn bite is finally dying out on Lake Wylie, and tournament angler Reid McGinn of Fort Mill reports

Lake Monticello morning surface water temperatures are in the mid- to upper 70s and clarity is normal. Lake levels fluctuate daily. 

It’s still a transition period between post-spawn and early summer bass patterns on Lake Monticello, but tournament angler Andy Wicker of Pomaria reports

Lake Wateree is at 96.9% of full pool and the lake is relatively clear. Morning surface water temperatures are in the upper 70s. 

Rising water temperatures would normally be pushing more bass offshore, but tournament angler Dearal Rodgers of Camden reports

Lake Jocassee is at 94.8% of full pool and the lake is extremely clear. Morning surface water temperatures have inched up a degree or two to about 73 degrees.

Summer weekend boat traffic is not helpful for the trout fishing, but on Friday Guide Sam Jones with Jocassee Charters (864-280-9056) reports

Lake Murray water levels are at 357.26 (full pool is 360.00) and water clarity is pretty good. Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid to upper 70s. 

The striped bass bite has been improved this week, and Captain Brad Taylor (803-331-1354) reports

Lake Hartwell water levels are still above full at 660.32 (full pool is 660.00) and even after a bunch of rain most of the lake is still very clear. Morning surface water temperatures got as high as 78 or 79 but they have since dropped to about 74.

Clarks Hill water levels are still very full at 329.97 (full pool is 330.00) and, even after an inch of rain, the lower end is still clear while some of the rivers are stained. Morning surface water temperatures are about 78 degrees on the lower end and around 80 in the rivers.
