It took longer than expected, but the late spring/ early summer catfish bite has finally turned on at Clarks Hill.

Inshore surface water temperatures are in the low to mid-70s around Georgetown and bait is prolific in the creeks.

Morning surface water temperatures around Edisto Island are up to about 74 degrees. The North Edisto is fairly clear, but on any more extreme tides around the new and full moon the South Edisto gets pretty dirty. The rivers and creeks have filled up with bait-sized shrimp.

Morning surface water temperatures around Hilton Head got up to about 79 or 80 degrees, but have dropped back to about 76.

Lake Jocassee is at 98.8% of full pool and the main lake and major rivers are clear. Morning surface water temperatures range from about 71-73 degrees.

Santee Cooper water levels are at 75.79 in Lake Marion (full pool is 76.8) and bouncing around 75.60 in Lake Moultrie (full pool is 75.5). The water is clearing and morning surface water temperatures are still around 76 degrees.

Lake Keowee is at 97.6% of full pool and clarity is normal. Cool nights and cloud cover have allowed water temperatures to remain almost constant with most of the lake now in the upper-70s.
